FAQ'S
Q: Where are you located?
A: Nelson, New Zealand
Q: What material is best for painting?
A: We recommend using either Primed Aluminium or Colorsteel Maxx if you are painting.
We strongly recommend stainless steel not being painted in any form other than power coating.
Q: What do I need to do before painting soakers?
A: If you are painting Primed Aluminium or Colorsteel Maxx all you need to do is give the soakers a good clean to ensure they are free from any oil or grease, then you can paint straight onto them.
Q: What material should I use in a sea spray zone?
A: Colorsteel Maxx would be the best option. Stainless Steel is also a good option as long as it is being left unpainted!
Q: What do I use to install soakers?
A: Galvanised or stainless steel clouts (as long as they are compatible with the type of timber) and a MS Modified Silicone for sealing and glueing soakers into position.
Q: Can these soakers be retro fitted?
A: Yes. Our soakers are primarily designed for new builds, however they can be retro fitted with some trimming. We recommend using a pair of both left and right handed tin snips to trim the soakers to the correct size. A multi tool could also be used to make a small grove under the weatherboard for the soaker to slide into.
Q: How does the size of the soaker relate to the size of my weatherboard?
A: As our soakers are designed for new builds they are made approximately 25mm longer than the size specified on our listings, e.g. 180mm are actually a little over 200mm. This is to allow for the soaker to lap up under the board above.
For further clarification please refer to the diagram on our home page.
Q: How long does shipping take?
A: Approximately 2 - 3 working days on Team Global Express Couriers.
Q: Can you make soakers for rebated weatherboard?
A:Unfortunately we cannot make soakers for rebated weatherboards. We would recommend doing a box corner.
